In conjunction with upcoming Chinese New Year, Eastern & Oriental (E&O) Hotel at George Town, Penang is offering a series of CNY promotions including course meals, buffet, steamboat and afternoon tea. We were invited for its course meal preview session recently.
For this upcoming Chinese New Year, 3 set meal menu are being offered, including:
- Chinese New Year Happiness Menu (RM188++ per person)
- Chinese New Year Abundance Menu (RM288++ per person)
- Chinese New Year Prosperity Menu (RM388++ per person)
Each menu comes with 8 mouthwatering dishes. Chinese New Year Abundance Menu, as an example, contains the following:
Fresh Salmon and Sliced Abalone Yee Sang
Double Boiled Sea Treasure Herbal Soup
E&O Signature Roasted Duck
Steamed Garoupa Fish
Wok Fried Broccoli with Hericum Mushroom
Golden Fried King Prawn

- Minimum 12 persons (6 persons per table)

Takeaway menu is also available from 15-Jaunary-2022 to 15-February-2022. Items available for takeaway include CNY cookies, cake, Macaroons, Yee Sang, Roasted Pei Pa Duck and Herbal Chicken with Ginseng.
For us, the Herbal Chicken with Ginseng soup is quite tempting considering it comes with fried rice wrapped in lotus leaf. Definitely a great add-on if you are planning to have family reunion dinner at home. Note that 3 days per-order is required. Items can be collected at Victory Annexe Lobby from 11am-10pm.
Not a fan of set meal? No worry. E&O Hotel is offering buffet, steamboat and even afternoon tea during Chinese New Year. Sarkies, the prominent buffet restaurant in E&O Hotel, for instance, is offering CNY buffet starting 30-January-2022:
